Literary Magazine

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more

You will now be working together to create the class literary magazine. You need to decide the types of works you want to include in the magazine: poetry, short stories, essays, etc. There are many different types of works to choose from those submitted by our class.

Post your suggestions for works and ideas for the theme for the magazine.

We are still looking for illustrations to include in the magazine. Yesterday, the suggestion came up in class for using Photoshop to edit some of your photos. For those of you who stated you had experience using Photoshop, please write your name on the white board at the beginning of class tomorrow. We'll be looking to our resident experts for help.

Village of Umuofia - Preparing for the Trip

On Tuesday we will begin our three-day adventure in the Village of Umuofia. http://www.literaryworlds.wmich.edu/umuofia/You must complete reading Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe before Tuesday, if you haven't done so already.

Before we begin, as a class you will decide which characters will participate in the role-play. Remember it is important to have as many points of view from the novel represented in the role-play environment.

  1. Review the list of characters listed on the site: http://www.literaryworlds.wmich.edu/umuofia/umuofiacharacterroles.html
  2. Post which characters you believe must be represented in the role-play and why
  3. List three characters that you would like to be during the role-play
  4. What event do you want to characters to react to during our visit? Create your own scenario or describe one from the novel.
